Koala


Koalas, which can also be called Phascolartos Cinereus (phas-co-lar-tos cin-ner-rious) or the Koala Bear, lives in Australia. They are marsupials which means they have a pouch for thier babies, that are called joeys. Joeys stay in the pouch for six to seven months and they are fully mature at around a year old. Koalas live on Eucalyptus leaves because the leaves have enough nutrition and liquid for the koalas to survive. Koalas are napping champions! They sleep up to 20 hours a day and when they're not sleeping, they are eating. Adult male koalas attract females with loud bellows that can also warn or scare away rivals. Koalas can live up to 20 years in the wild. They are the symbolof Australia.
